Bodysurf Scotland @ Culture Night

Following on from our recent Uprise Dance Festival, we’re gearing up to take part in Findhorn Bay Arts’ Culture Night, as part of the Artistic Upstarts event at Forres Town Hall.

At 8pm on Saturday 26 September 2015, Findhorn Bay Arts will present an evening of cabaret, performance, concert and dance, celebrating the marvellous creativity of Moray’s artistic community.

Bodysurf Scotland’s showcase will feature international award-winning dancer and choreographer Lucy Suggate, as well as our own Artistic Director Karl Jay-Lewin.

Liquid Gold | Lucy Suggate
Place Prize Finalised Lucy Suggate has gained recognition for her unique irreverent style both across the UK and internationally. Lucy will be performing Liquid Gold – a short piece that captivates audiences with deliquescent movement and effective lighting and music. Liquid Gold was one of the highlights of Bodysurf Scotland’s Rise Dance Festival in 2014.

Quotes of Work Past, Present & Future | Karl Jay-Lewin
Karl Jay-Lewin is an independent choreographer and dance artist whose work is rooted in the post-modern, experimental dance scene – pushing boundaries, exploring edges and generally mixing things up. Karl will be performing quotes from work past, present and future, including the acclaimed Extremely Bad Dancing to Extremely French Music, which confounds audiences as it flips between the absurdly humorous and quietly poignant.
