Findhorn Bay Arts Festival & Bodysurf Scotland presents an evening of contemporary dance, film and music.

Featuring Highland dance video makers Goat, international choreographer Caroline Reagh, acclaimed Scottish fiddle player Patsy Reid and gritty hip hop dance theatre group Cultured Mongrel Dance Theatre.

Filmed in South Uist in the summer of 2012, The Time It Takes is the latest work from Moray’s award winning dance video makers, Katrina McPherson and Simon Fildes of Goat Media. Featuring stunning performances by international dance artists Rosalind Masson, Simon Ellis and Dai Jian, The Time It Takes is a composite montage of dance inspired by the breathtaking landscape and rich history of this most beautiful of Scottish islands.

Stillspace is a first-time collaboration between international dance artist Caroline Reagh and acclaimed musician Patsy Reid. Playful, thoughtful, sometimes surprising and sensitive yet fun, Stillspace aptly showcases the talent of these two performers whose work is deeply embedded in the rich traditions of dance and music. The piece is being assisted to fruition by Mentor/Director Mary Prestidge and by Outside Eye Emma Benbow. Funded by Creative Scotland and EMS.

Completed under the mentorship of Jonathan Burrows and Jonzi D as part of Breakin’ Conventions’ Back To The Lab at Sadler’s Wells, Thinking In The First Person by Cultured Mongrel Dance Theatre is a hip hop production that explores social media and identity, addressing how self value shifts when faced with constantly presenting oneself online.
