Extremely Pedestrian Chorales at Findhorn Bay Festival

Extremely Pedestrian Chorales presents the prosaic and commonplace experience of the pedestrian as an act of beauty, meaning and gentle comedy. The work takes its form and structure from the sublime harmonies of JS Bach’s famous Chorales – pitching them into our present-day lives with just a dash of punk-ish irreverence and 18th Century powder wigs. A beguiling mix of high and low art, Extremely Pedestrian Chorales explores some of the multifarious roles and movement languages of the pedestrian.

Karl Jay-Lewin is a choreographer, performer and Creative Director of Dance North (previously Bodysurf Scotland). His work is rooted in the post-modern, experimental dance scene, influenced by eclectic dance training. Extremely Pedestrian Chorales is the second piece (after Extremely Bad Dancing to Extremely French Music) that Karl has made in collaboration with internationally acclaimed composer Matteo Fargion.
