All large bunch of pink/cream oyster mushrooms are held in front of someones head, obscuring the face. Dark brown long hair is visible around the edges and the shoulders against a pale pink background.

My_co_ Meditation

Simone Kenyon
Arts in Moray (AIM) Artist in Residence
Supported by Dance North Scotland

My_co_ Meditation is a walk and guided meditation to explore our collective and individual ways of imagining and relating to fungi and the wider woodland within our reach.

‘We may conceive of ourselves as autonomous individuals, but fungi raise questions about our categories in ways that make the world look different… Learning more about these associations changes our experience of our own bodies and the places we inhabit..Our bodies, like those of all other organisms and the ecosystems we inhabit, are dwelling places…Are we able to loosen the grip of some of our certainties about how we divide the world?’ (Merlin Sheldrake. Can We Grow The Concepts Of Our Selves?)

Myco from Greek mukēs means fungus, denoting a relationship to fungus. Mycology is the scientific study of fungi.

My_co_ Meditation is a walk and meditation to explore our collective and individual ways of imagining and relating to fungi and the wider woodland within our reach.

Through deep listening and attending to our own bodily resonances, My_co_ Meditation creates a moment for us to encounter and develop our sense of kinship towards our fungal communities and wider ecologies.
